Under the veil (2009)

 

A series of portraits of different Muslim women, in which the photographer placing herself literally below the veil to make images, mixing performance and document, to manifest that, apart from the different cultures, the author and the model have something essential that unites them above and beyond everything: the fact of being women.

The artist and the work fuse into a single act with the witness remaining in the form of photographs that fix the moment in which the women, distant in their ways of thinking and habits, decide to share their intimate and private space for a short while, discovering each other, looking at each other.
